Our Journey: Nippon Koi Farm

Over the past three decades, Nippon Koi Farm has evolved from an ornamental koi farm into a key player in Singapore’s sustainable agriculture landscape, aligning closely with the nation's food security goals. Our innovative use of aquaponics technology has positioned us as a crucial contributor to Singapore's "30 by 30" initiative, which seeks to produce 30% of the country’s nutritional needs locally by 2030. This report outlines our achievements in transitioning from traditional koi farming to the development of a fully automated, carbon-neutral Nippon SG Aquaponic system, which integrates fish and vegetable production on a large scale. Our operations are directly in line with the Singapore Food Agency’s strategic objectives, emphasizing sustainable, high-efficiency food production that maximizes the use of limited land resources. In light of our substantial investments in infrastructure and technology, and our contributions to local food security, we respectfully request a 10-year land lease extension with the option for an additional 10 years. This will enable us to continue scaling our operations, support Singapore’s food resilience efforts, and further develop our aquaponics technologies for wider local and international impact.
